  • Under the collaboration, an exclusive solar energy EV charging solution will be offered to new BMW Electric Vehicle customers. They will get a complimentary 4.5 kWp rooftop solar PV system (worth RM 22,000) from the Solarvest Group. The system can provide more than 3,000 km of environment-friendly driving per month.

This will facilitate new owners of BMW EVs to effectively harness renewable energy sources to power their electric vehicles, along with reducing their carbon footprint.

Upon entering into this partnership, Eugene Lee, Managing Director of Lee Motors Auto Care, said, “As the representative of the brand BMW in Kedah, we are committed to providing our customers with a premium ownership experience through our products and responsible charging capabilities. Our partnership with Solarvest Group reinforces our commitment to providing innovative and sustainable solutions, supporting state-of-the-art vehicles and EV charging technology for an exceptional ownership experience.”

While emphasizing the importance of sustainability in EV deployment, Davis Chong Chun Shiong, a spokesperson from Solarvest Holdings Berhad said, “To truly achieve sustainability, it is crucial to support Electric Vehicles with responsible and renewable sources of energy. At POWERBEE, our commitment lies in providing EV charging solutions powered by 100% renewable energy. With a 4.5kWp rooftop solar PV system, on average, we can generate enough electricity needed for five full charges per month on the BMW i7, equivalent to a travelling distance of 3,125 km, all powered by renewable energy. Through this partnership, we are exploring further collaborations with Lee Motors to increase EV adoption in Malaysia and ensure that the transition to electric mobility is supported with green energy.”

Solarvest is also looking forward to shifting its corporate vehicle fleet to Electric Vehicles to promote the eco-friendly deployment of clean energy solutions.

BMW Malaysia offers the premium electric SUV, the iX, in three variants - iX 40, iX 40 Sport, and iX 50 Sport, priced at RM 403,800, RM 447,800 and RM 546,800, respectively. The BMW i7, on the other hand, retails for RM 729,800.
