Lexus RX300 special edition launched at RM434K

KUALA LUMPUR:  A special edition variant of the Lexus RX300 has been launched in Malaysia. This new model is priced at RM434,000. It is worth noting that the said special edition is based on the RX300 Luxury trim. This makes it RM10,000 costlier than the standard model.

The special edition RX300 comes with a slew of accessories that give the SUV a more rugged look and improve its utility. The front bumper gets a lower lip that provides additional protection. The body gets side mouldings as well. The side profile also houses a one-piece sidestep that has been designed to help make the ingress and egress procedures much easier. This can prove to be a boon for children and elderly occupants who would otherwise find the RX300 to be tricky to board or de-board.

The special edition Lexus RX300 is also equipped with custom door visors that get chrome inserts, while a scuff plate mounted on the rear bumper helps in providing protection against any potential scratches due to loading & unloading of heavy luggage. A few feature additions have also been made to the RX300 special edition, including Welcome Door lamps, Touch ‘n Go reader/transmitter (not RFID compatible), and a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) dashcam.

No mechanical changes have been made to the SUV as part of the special edition treatment. It thus continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of putting out 235 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed ECT automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels through a sophisticated AWD (all-wheel drive) system.

Like the standard model, the Lexus RX300 is also being offered with a 5-year, unlimited warranty standard factory warranty package. Toyota has also confirmed that the aforementioned accessories installed on the special edition variant will be put in place by trained professionals UMW Toyota Motor’s Accessories Centre, located in Bukit Raja, Selangor.
