New Hyundai Santa Fe pricing revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai had previewed the new Santa Fe at 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) and opened its prebooking at the event itself. The Seoul-based manufacturer has now confirmed the pricing details of the SUV. The latest Santa Fe is available in 2.4 MPI 2WD Executive and 2.2 CRDi 4WD diesel variants.

The former variant gets a starting price tag of RM 169,888, which goes up to RM 189,888 for the top-spec model. On the other hand, the latter has a base price tag of RM 191,888 going all the way up to RM 211,888.

The new-gen Santa Fe comes with a bold front design having three-tier lighting and a new cascading grille, which is a signature designing element of Hyundai. At the rear, it has 3D-effect tail lamps, which resembles BMW’s OLED petals.

Hyundai has updated the interior as well. The dash now features a Corvette like twin-cowl design. There is also a 7-inch touchscreen, two-zone climate control panel, Qi wireless charger, and horizontal air-con vents.

Performance-wise, the new Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a naturally aspirated 2.4-litre Theta II mill, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 172 PS, while the peak torque is at 225 Nm. The engine is paired with a conventional six-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the 2.2 R CRDi turbodiesel engine produces a maximum power of 193 PS along with a peak torque of 440 Nm. It is equipped with the AWD and features a new torque converter eight-speed automatic transmission.

In addition, the new Hyundai Santa Fe features 19-inch wheels, keyless entry and push start, hill descent control, around-view monitor, powered front seats with driver’s seat having lumbar support, cruise control, and blind spot monitor.
