Nissan GT-R50 to hit the Road by 2020
KUALA LUMPUR: The limited-edition Nissan GT-R50 will be out for deliveries in late 2020. The prototype has been designed by Italdesign as Nissan’s first customer vehicle for the next year.
The GT-R50 will be set for display at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020. But before that, the prototype version will be on display at various locations in Japan, including the Nismo festival of 2019.
Nissan has limited the GT-R50 to only 50 units, which carry the tag of Italdesign. This limited-edition vehicle is based on the GT-R Nismo facelift model. The model is designed with two different carbon fibre finishes which gives it a premium and exotic look on the inside.
The GT-R50 is built with 3.8 litres V6 VR38DETT engine which is hand-assembled and designed by the NISMO experts. The engine produces power of 710hp and up to 780Nm of torque. Besides, it comes with a mid-mounted front-engine,
GT3 turbochargers, high-flow injectors, large intercoolers, and optimized ignition. The car also features a rear-mounted six-speed dual-clutch transmission which is mated with the GT-R’s ATTESA-TS all-wheel-drive system.
In terms of performance, the vehicle gets BILSTEIN DampTronic suspension and Brembo brakes with 6-piston monoblock calliper in the front and 4-piston monoblock calliper at the back. The 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires also help it in sticking around to the road no matter how much you drift around.
The Italdesign Nissan GT-R50, which gets its outline from Nissan’s design centre in London and San Diego was first revealed in June last year as a concept car. It’s the pronounced power bulge on the hood with samurai blade design which propelled the company to roll it into the frontline production model and was revealed in December this year.
It carries a price tag of around 990,000 euros (RM 4.7 Million). The company has stated that there is a strong demand for the car, adding that a limited number of the car has already been reserved, though it is not known exactly as how many are left available for sale.
