Nissan Navara gets Black Edition 2 in Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan Thailand has added a new special edition to its Navara pickup, called the Black Edition 2. As the name suggests, the pickup vehicle is decorated with a surfeit of black-colored elements and pleasing highlights both inside and out.

The main characteristics of this edition are more expressive on the exterior. There’s a dark glossy metal grille that houses the brand’s logo and merges with the trapezoidal-shaped LED headlamps on the sides. The LED headlamps are also fenced by a black-colored bezel. The bonnet too receives layers of black at the centre, and along the edges, the latter runs up to the A-pillars. Moreover, the fog lamps, wheel wells, side mirror caps, door handle, and even the roof spoiler have their major portions painted in black. To end up with, we have the side profiles accommodating patterns designed in black and grey that emerges from the wheel wells.

Moving to the interior, one will notice black leather seats with alternating orange mesh fabric and bright contrast stitching. The orange highlights can also be seen on the lower front grill, side mirrors as well as the running boards. The vehicle is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition, and 360-degree around-view monitoring (AVM).

The powerhouse of the Black Edition 2 is a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, which is capable of delivering a maximum power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 403Nm. One can notice a detuning, which is the result of the fact that this pickup is only available as a 4x2 model.

We are yet to get any official report regarding the availability of Black Edition 2 in the local market. In Malaysia, Navara is available in 11 variants starting from RM 77,330, including a Black Series model priced at RM 123,643.
