Now entering its third decade, the duathlon—which combines running and cycling—has grown into a massive international spectacle.
Organisers expect more than 4,500 athletes from over 30 countries to take part, the largest turnout yet for the Malaysian leg of the global POWERMAN series.
“As we celebrate two decades of duathlon excellence, POWERMAN Malaysia 2025 by OMODA | JAECOO promises to be our biggest and boldest race to date, powered by a brand that shares our spirit of performance, resilience, and innovation,” said Jeffrey Ross, General Manager and Race Director of POWERMAN Malaysia.
He added that this year’s race continues to reflect the shared values between the brand and the event itself: determination, competitiveness, and endurance.
Emily Lek, Vice President of OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia, echoed that sentiment, noting how the athletes’ grit and drive align with the automaker’s own brand values. “The aspirational and fearless spirit of POWERMAN athletes, which pushes the limit of human endurance, perfectly embodies the spirit of OMODA | JAECOO,” she said. “We look forward to witnessing POWERMAN athletes break records and make history.”

As always, the event will follow a run-bike-run format across several race categories. The Classic distance (10km run, 60km bike, 10km run) will host over 1,000 competitors, while the Short distance (5km run, 30km bike, 5km run) is expected to attract over 3,000 participants.
There will also be a POWERKIDS segment for children aged 6 to 15, involving three age-based categories and more than 500 young athletes.
Beyond the main race, attendees can expect a busy weekend with a three-day expo at the event grounds. Over 50 brands will showcase products and services related to the endurance sport and lifestyle space.
Highlights include 100PLUS, Shimano, PURPOSE Performance Wear, and Kahf, a halal men’s grooming brand inspired by nature.
Whether you’re an elite athlete, a weekend warrior, or just someone who loves a high-energy atmosphere, the 20th anniversary edition of POWERMAN Malaysia looks set to be a momentous moment in the local sporting calendar.
