Jaecoo J5 and J7 PHEV ‘Art Cars’ turn heads at Lahlahland 2025 festival

KUALA LUMPUR: The Jaecoo J5 made its first official appearance at the OMODA | JAECOO Carnival in August this year, with its launch slated for Q1 2026. Ahead of that, the highly anticipated EV took the centre stage at LahLahLand 2025 in a vibrant, colourful avatar alongside the J7 PHEV. 

As the Official Auto Partner of LahLahLand 2025, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia showcased three striking “Art Cars” (two J5 units and one J7 PHEV) at the lifestyle festival held from 1 to 2 November 2025 at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre. 

All three SUVs were uniquely wrapped to reflect the dynamic themes of the festival, ensuring the premium SUVs fit seamlessly within the festival’s creative direction. These “Art Cars” highlighted the ethos of both brands and served as a stylish backdrop for festival visitors.

Alongside showcasing the SUVs, OMODA | JAECOO also hosted a “Spin the Wheel” game, offering visitors a chance to take home customised branded merchandise.

A brief about the upcoming Jaecoo J5

• The Jaecoo J5 is a B-segment SUV that features a bold, boxy SUV silhouette, similar to the J7 and a refined level of luxury inside.
• Touted as the “Everyday Superstar,” the JAECOO J5 is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged intercooled engine that kicks out a maximum power of 147 PS and a peak torque of 210 Nm. The engine comes paired with a responsive CVT automatic transmission driving the front wheels.
• Inside, the upcoming Jaecoo SUV has a driver-focused cockpit with a crisp digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch ‘2K’ infotainment unit.
• As for safety, the J5 is packed with a comprehensive suite of Level 2 ADAS systems, including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keep Assist.

Set to launch in the first quarter of 2026, the Jaecoo J5 is now open for booking with an estimated starting price of RM 120,000.
