Perodua Bezza: Which variant to buy?

Perodua Bezza: Which variant to buy?

When it comes to value for money, we all agree that in Malaysia, no one does things better than Perodua. The homegrown carmaker has actually shown progress when it comes to offering the best in a lower price bracket. Take, for example, the Perodua Bezza.

Perodua Bezza exterior

The 2018 Perodua Bezza offers a lot more than its competition. If you look at the Perodua Bezza price, then you will realise that it is also the most affordable entry-level sedan out there. The price starts from RM 34,490. There are five Perodua Bezza variants on offer and there are five Bezza colors available as well - Sugar Brown, Ocean Blue, Lava Red, Ebony Black, Glittering Silver and Sugar Brown. So, which variant should you buy? Let’s take a look at what each trim of the Perodua Bezza offers through the Bezza specifications.

Perodua Bezza G-Xtra

Perodua Bezza Exterior

This is the base variant and offers a 1.0-litre engine that is good for 67 PS of power and 91 Nm of torque. Incidentally, this is also the one variant that is available with the 1.0-litre petrol engine. One can option this with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Perodua claims a mileage of 22.8 kmpl with the manual and slightly less with automatic. Halogen headlights, 14-inch 8-spoke alloys, side skirts, chrome door handles, fabric seats with integrated headrests, eight luggage hook nets as well as two cup holders are available. Power windows are on offer too. The boot release is through a remote control and there are carpet mats too.

Perodua offers a single DIN music system with two speakers in the front. Dual airbags, reverse parking sensors and ABS with EBD are standard across the range. ISOFIX tethers, as well as central door lock, are standard as well. The Perodua Bezza G-Xtra manual price is RM 34,490 while that of the automatic is the same as well.

Perodua Bezza Premium X

PERODUA BEZZA STYLING

This one is the Perodua Bezza mid variant. It offers everything that the G-Xtra does. However, there are a few additional features too. For example, the engine is a bigger 1.3-litre unit. This one churns out 94 PS of power and 121 Nm of torque. This one too can be optioned with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed AT. The economy numbers with the manual are rated at 21.7 kmpl whereas that with the automatic is 21 kmpl. In terms of features, there are electric ORVMs with turn indicators on them, keyless entry and go, push-button start, adjustable rear headrests, front fog lights, window film and phone slot at the back with a USB charging provision.

In terms of safety, there are front parking sensors apart from what is offered with the base trim. Prices start from RM 40,090 and RM 41,890 for the manual and automatic versions respectively.

Perodua Bezza Advance

This one primarily comes with an automatic transmission only. Needless to mention it is also the Perodua Bezza top spec variant. The Perodua Bezza Advance though claims 22 kmpl fuel efficiency primarily because it also boasts Eco start-stop. The alloys too have a 5-spoke spiral twist to them and there are side skirts too. The upholstery is done in leather while the electrically adjustable ORVMs now retract as well. A touchscreen multimedia system with navigation as well as MirrorLink is also available. This one also gets two speakers at the back.

Bezza safety

In terms of safety, one also gets Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Start Assist and Traction Control. The price of the Perodua Bezza Advance is RM 47,790.

Decision time

If one has allotted RM 50k for their next vehicle purchase, then they should straight away head for a Perodua dealership. The Perodua Bezza facelift is the most value for money they can find in the market as of now. It has comfortable seating for five, capacious boot as well as fuel-efficient engines. Given that the Advance version costs RM 17k more than the base version, we would suggest that if one is a tight budget, the G-Xtra makes sense. Buy the manual if you will be doing more highway runs and opt for the auto if the city excites you. If you want to buy a feature loaded version, then the Premium X is the one for you. If a vehicle with more safety features is what you dig and plus are a fan of leather seats, then it is the Bezza Advance for you.
