Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition up for grabs in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Porsche cars in Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto Performance, has just launched the all-new Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition in the market. The special edition model based on the 992 generation 911 Targa boasts the historical exterior and interior styling and the latest tech reinterpreted by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

Let’s talk about the styling first. The sports car is decked up in an exclusive Cherry Metallic exterior colour inspired by racing cars of the 1950s. Other colour options are Black and Guards Red, GT Silver Metallic, and Crayon. 

The car features a “Spears” motorsport graphic on the front wings that recalls the brand’s motorsports history. In the early racing days, white paint was used to apply in that area to hide the marks. On the sides, we see a graphic resembling the 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster Heritage Design. For that, buyers can choose any race number between 0 and 99. 

Other key highlights of the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition are 

• Gold emblems around the car for a vintage look
• 911 Carrera exclusive wheels in two sizes (20 or 21 inches) and two finishings (Black high-gloss or Platinum satin-gloss)
• Black-painted brake callipers
• Silver sports tailpipes
• Porsche Heritage mark on the rear

Inside, a red interior paired with Atacama beige trims welcomes you in a retro style. The spectacular inclusions here are Heritage Design floor mats, Corduroy fabric on seat and door panels, and Alcantara trimmings on the headliner and front pillars. The instrument panel gets two high-resolution 7.0-inch displays with a green theme. It is paired with a green-themed Sport Chrono package clock. Also, the car key gets the same Cherry Metallic colour as the exterior, while the key pouch is made of two-tone leather.

Under the bonnet, the Porsche 911 Targa 4S is equipped with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six boxer engine that delivers a maximum power output of 450 PS and a peak torque of 530 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed DCT. With the Launch Control function, the sports car can run from zero to 100 kmph in less than 3.6 seconds before hitting the top speed of 304 kmph.

The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition price tag reads RM 1,677,409 (on-the-road inclusive of SST exemption).
