Porsche updates its PCM 6.0 infotainment system, gets wireless Android Auto & more
KUALA LUMPUR: The automotive industry like other market segments is constantly evolving, keeping itself customer and period ready at all times. Porsche is one such carmaker that works constantly on new products and at the same time enhances the existing ones. And today we’ll be discussing Porsche’s upgraded infotainment system, the PCM 6.0.
In PCM 6.0, the three former letters stand for Porsche Communication Management and the latter tells it is entering software version 6.0.
This new version of the infotainment system, the PCM 6.0, will be available as standard fit in several Porsche models like the Taycan, 911, Panamera, and Cayenne.

Porsche’s new, updated infotainment system looks visually new too with new coloured icons and a more streamlined menus structure. Both developed by Porsche at the suggestions of the customers. The entire interface of the infotainment system is refreshed and the Voice Pilot function is now improved. Also, it is now easier to access in-car music streaming, news updates, and the owner’s manual.
There’s more to the PCM 6.0 than just better interface and accessibility, the system has wireless Android Auto integration. Not to forget the direct access to Spotify, available as a media source within the infotainment system. The user is just required to log in and the integrated app will offer all its features like saved playlist, Like function, and the new Go to Radio option.
Also parts of the new software are a few additional features for the Taycan. The owners get the Charging Planner app on the infotainment system along with better algorithms. The Charging Planner app now takes into account the time required to start and end the charging at the charging station when calculating the total driving duration, thus allowing customers to plan their journey efficiently.
As mentioned before, the updated infotainment system will be offered as standard gear in all 911, Cayenne, Taycan, and Panamera models with production and implementation commencing in the next few weeks.
