Proton e.MAS 7 becomes Malaysia’s fastest-selling EV; brand celebrates 1st anniversary

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton started delivering the e.MAS 7 in January this year, and the EV has become Malaysia’s fastest-selling electric vehicle in just five months. The automaker has sold 3,632 EVs as of May 31, comprising 3,399 units locally and 233 exported. 

Along with this milestone, Proton e.MAS brand has completed one year of establishment. Introduced in June 2024, it reflects the brand’s vision for the future of mobility, focusing on advanced technology, eco-friendliness, and cutting-edge design. 

Under the new brand, Proton launched the e.MAS 7 on 16 December 2024, which has since emerged as a frontrunner in Malaysia’s fast-evolving electric vehicle segment. It continues to outperform in the market despite pricing pressures, reflecting the trust Malaysians place in the Proton brand.

Proton e.MAS expands nationwide

Pro-Net has been actively expanding the EV ecosystem to offer a better ownership experience to its customers. The key highlights include - 

• The Integrated Live Charging Map is available inside the e.MAS 7 covers more than 2,500 public charging points (CPOs), offering coverage of over 90% nationwide. 
• The company has appointed 44 Proton e.MAS dealerships, with 32 already operational. 
• Additionally. Pro-Net has expanded its after-sales footprint with 24 3S centres serving customers with professional satisfaction. Six more 3S centres are set to open soon.
• The construction of the dedicated Proton e.MAS production facility in Tanjung Malim is well underway. The automaker has identified local vendors to support component manufacturing, highlighting its commitment to local industry development.

Proton e.MAS 1st Anniversary special campaign

To commemorate the Proton e.MAS 1st Anniversary, Pro-Net has rolled out a special “Peace of Mind” campaign for the existing e.MAS owners. Running from 1st June to 1st July 2025, the promo offers -

• A complimentary 32-point vehicle inspection covering key areas such as brake pads, battery, electronic systems, lighting, tires, wipers, and air conditioning
• Free software inspection
