Expanded model choices for e-hailing drivers

As per the extended agreement, the drivers can now select from a wider selection of Proton cars, including the Proton S70 sedan and the premium X-Series SUVs (X50, X70, and X90).

Also, the Grab driver-partners in the GrabCar Plus and GrabCar (6-Seater) categories get a broader range of vehicle options to upgrade their vehicles and cater to an even broader consumer base.

The expanded initiative builds on the success of the  “Saga Power Up for Grab Driver-Partners” campaign launched in November 2024, which has generated 220 leads and recorded 148 vehicle registrations for the sedan to date.

Enhanced benefits - Cash rebate, service discount & more

The collaboration also offers the following incentives to the driver partners to help ease the running costs during the initial phase of ownership.

    • Cash rebates of up to RM 13,000
    • 5% service discount for the first two years or 40,000 km
    • RM 500 in fuel support

The signing ceremony was held at PROTON’s Centre of Excellence headquarters, where Zhang Qiang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton EDAR, and Mr. Rashid Shukor, Director of Country Operations & Mobility for Grab Malaysia, officially signed the agreement.

Other key representatives present at the ceremony included Wan Hazran, Director of After Sales at Proton EDAR; Ong Chee Wooi, Deputy Director of Sales at Proton EDAR; and Mr. Gerald Lian, Head of Driver Acquisition & Strategic Supply at Grab Malaysia.
