Proton sold 13,602 units in Feb 2024 - Saga, S70, and Persona among top sellers

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has revealed its sales performance for February 2024. During the month, the national automaker sold a total of 13,602 units (including exports), taking the year-to-date tally high to 26,484 units. Compared to the first two months of 2023, this represents an increase of 3% in sales.

    • Proton S70: The newly launched sedan experienced a notable sales increase of 60.5% in February, reaching 2,314 units, establishing itself as the leading C-segment sedan in Malaysia. Its success is attributed to its spirited performance, advanced connectivity, and comprehensive safety features. The sedan is expected to continue its stellar performance in the upcoming months with Ramadan and Hari Raya celebrations on the horizon

    Proton S70

    • Proton Saga: It continues to be the brand’s best-selling model with 6,212 deliveries in February, surpassing the 6,000 units milestone for the fifth consecutive month. With a total of 12,341 units sold in the first two months of 2024, its year-to-date sales are up by 10.9%
    • Proton Persona: In the B-segment sedan category, the Proton Persona continued its dominance with sales of 1,859 units in February

    • Proton X90: Proton’s flagship SUV, saw a 2.5% increase in sales compared to the previous month, reaching 374 units in February
    • Proton X50: Despite facing stiff competition, the Proton X50 maintained a healthy sales volume of 1,816 units in February, securing its position as the second-best-selling B-segment SUV

    • Proton X70: The SUV experienced a significant uptick in sales, rising by 19.6% to 445 units in February, highlighting its enduring popularity in the SUV segment
    • Proton Iriz: The brand’s B-segment hatchback also saw growth, closing at 543 units in February, representing a 3.8% increase from the previous month
    • Proton Exora: Despite production ending, the Proton Exora continued to attract buyers, with 39 units sold in February. To date, it remains the most successful C-segment MPV in Malaysia's automotive history, with over 194,250 units sold.

    Additionally, Proton's export sales volume surged by 223% to 346 units in February, contributing significantly to the overall growth of the company’s vehicle sales.
