Proton X70 launch information revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: Its been close to a month or so since we have been providing you inputs about Proton first SUV, the X70. Initially, it was expected that Proton Malaysia lineup would officially include the X70 by the end of September or latest by October. However, as the time approached, Proton revealed more information about its plan to bring in the X70 in the country.

As for the current scenario, Proton Malaysia is busy touring around with its new gem, showing it around to prospective buyers. It seems like the company wants to keep the hype around the X70 alive and create a strong customer base before the launch. As per Abdul Rashid Musa, Proton Edar CEO, the company plans to reach over 6000 potential customers by way of these review sessions. He was quoted saying, “While that’s a small portion of the potential buyers we are targeting, it gives those who are considering the X70 a chance to view the SUV so that they can make a decision.'

Cutting down to the chase, as to when Proton is planning to launch the X70 SUV. Well, according to a social media post shared by Proton, the X70 launch would happen after - November 4, 2018. The November 4 deadline demarkets the end of Proton X70 showcasing. Before the launch of X70, Proton wants to cover the following locations, as they are considered to be good markets for the car. The list includes - Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru, Ipoh, Kuantan, and Kuching(note the names need not be in the order of the showcasing schedule).

Recently, at an exclusive event, International Trade and Industry Minister, Darell Leiking was shown the upcoming SUV. This event was held at over the weekend at the Proton’s Shah Alam test track.

Now the big question is whether or not it is worth to wait for the Proton X70? There’s no doubt that the X70 will come packed with some amazing tech and luxury appeal (maybe at a slightly affordable tag), it’s launch is still a month away. So, if you can wait, then do so, otherwise, go for the X70 alternatives.
