Save the date! Proton X90 three-row SUV launch on May 7

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news for SUV lovers! The much-awaited Proton X90 launch in Malaysia is finally going to happen on May 7, 2023, at 3 pm. The automaker has just released this update on its social media handle with a caption that reads “Stunning Design - feast your eyes on the exquisite details.​ The countdown begins now, for Malaysia's most-anticipated new car.​”

First unveiled in March this year, the X90 bookings have been underway since last month. It is a seven-seater SUV offered in four variants - Standard, Executive, Premium, and Flagship. The first three versions feature a 2-3-2 seating configuration, while the top-spec Flagship is exclusively on offer with a 2-2-2 layout.

Engine specifications

The SUV is powered by a mild-hybrid system combining a 1.5-litre TGDI mill and an innovative 48V Electric Motor Synergy system, together churning out a maximum power of 190 PS and a peak torque of 300 Nm. According to the automaker, “The 48V EMS System delivers improved fuel efficiency, performance, and reduced emissions, and represents our first step into the New Energy Vehicle segment.” 

As for the transmission, the car gets a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Dimensions

The upcoming Proton X90 is a three-row SUV measuring 4,835 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,785 mm in height. The wheelbase is measured at 2,815 mm.
