Spyshots: Honda Civic in-depth details

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda is all set to capture the automobile market with its next generation Honda Civic. Though the launch date is not yet revealed by the automakers but we can expect it to roll out of the curtain anytime in near future. Thanks to its parked prototypes, photographers managed to capture some spy shots of it. Though the entire car was loaded with an ample of camouflage, still some minute details were noticiable.

This tenth generation Civic appeared to have a more aggressive look than its previous generations. The front facade looks a little more different and have LED headlights which are rumored to be available only in the upper variants. Its base trim would get 16 inch wheels wrapped in tires measuring 215/55 R16 while the upper trim would be anchored with 17 inch wheels rounded by 215/55 R17 tires. At the rear end one can find a shark fin antenna and the rear lamps which cut deep into the boot. Talking about the exhaust pipes, one model possesses a single outlet while the other model have a twin outlet arrangement.

The entry level model is expected to be powered by the same 1.8-litre engine which could deliver a maximum power of 139 hp and a maximum output of 174 Nm while the sportier version would get an all new turbocharged 1.5-litre iVTEC engine that can generate a maximum power of 201 hp and a peak torque of 260 Nm. This power mill would be offered with a choice of either a CVT or an eight speed dual-clutch transmission while the base trim is expected to be sold with a manual transmission.

Talking about its interiors, the seats would be wrapped in leather upholstery, and the rear seats would also get a heating option. It is not possible to talk anything about the dash as it was all covered but an instrument cluster can be seen, shielded under a sculpted hood for a cleaner layout. A multi-functional steering wheel was also captured which is expected to be embossed with all the audio and cruise buttons (top-end variant only). For the convenience of rear passengers, a spacious legroom would be provided while the climate system control would be embossed just below the front arm rest.
