Toyota bZ7 EV debuts in China; launch later this year
KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota has expanded its ‘beyond Zero’ lineup in the Chinese market, with the introduction of the bZ7 BEV. The latest model is part of the brand’s multi-pathway approach and follows the bZ4X, bZ3, bZ3X, and bZ5 models.

The Toyota bZ7 will come equipped with Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit, roof-mounted lidar sensor, Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem, and Huawei-developed electric motor.

- The bZ7 measures 5130 mm in length, 1965 mm in width, and 1506 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 3020 mm. The curb weight is estimated at 2,275 kg.
- The EV boasts a sleek and elegant design with a hammerhead front face and a fastback-style silhouette. Key elements include - C-shaped headlights, roof-mounted lidar sensor, frameless doors, multi-spoke wheels and a rear ducktail.
Photo from GAC-Toyota- The minimalist cabin features a trapezoidal instrument panel, a three-spoke steering wheel, an advanced head unit powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS, and a floating central console incorporating a wireless smartphone charging pad.
- Notably, the bZ7 is the first-ever EV that integrates Xiaomi’s “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem, allowing users to connect personal devices, smart home products, and cars.

- Feeding the motor is a lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by CALB-Tech. The exact battery capacity and driving range are yet to be revealed.

Toyota bZ electric vehicles in Malaysia
