Toyota Fortuner confirmed: Leaked images!!
Kuala Lumpur: It seems clear that Toyota Fortuner's 2016-facelift which is based on Toyota Hilux platform is just “few months away from launch”. This was revealed by Toyota Thailand at the launch of its Hilux recently. Now, from our sources we know how the look of Fortuner is going to be, credits to the leaked photographs from earlier this year credits to auto portal flywheel.
When the new Fortuner finally sets foot on soil, you can expect it to carry same range of engines which are sported on the new Hilux. The diesel engine will probably be the new 2.4-litre 2GD-FTV and 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV arrangement which will take over the current 2.5 and 3.0 litre line-up. The 2.7-litre engine, albeit with same configuration can now sport a new Dual VVT-i technology on it.
Most probably, the 4-speed auto transmission will be replaced by a new 6-speed gear kit. We expect a 6-speed gearbox to be present as well with manual option, however this being available in Malaysia is highly unlikely. The insides of 2016 are most likely to replicate Hilux's cabin, with plentiful of additional passenger utilities thrown in. The talk of the town, Hilux already sports much more refinements and this will be used to full extent by its more classy cousin.
