Toyota Vios could be unveiled at KLIMS 2018, bookings start 22 November

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor for Toyota in Malaysia, UMW Toyota has prepared its order books. Come 22nd November and the interested buyers can book the all-new Toyota Vios. With the KLIMS 2018 kicking off from 23 November, we also anticipate the official unveiling of the Toyota Vios during the mega auto show.

With the Singapore and Indonesian markets already having their Vios, the Malaysian people will finally get their fair share too. The sedan version of the Yaris, Toyota Vios boasts a bigger motor than the smaller sibling. Sold as the Yaris Ativ in Thailand, the sedan is powered by a Thailand’s Eco Car complaint 1.6-litre engine. However, a 2NR-FE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i is used by Toyota in the all-new Vios. This motor produces 107 PS of max power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm. The transmission duties are handled by a CVT unit.

The new Vios in the Malaysian market is expected to be offered in two different trims. The E and the G models are supposed to be sold at prices of RM 85,000 and RM 91,000, respectively. The model E features 15-inch alloys, automatic-AC, LED DRLs, and a DVD-AVX infotainment system that features a 6.8-inch screen.

On top of the features offered on the E variant, things like 16-inch 2-tone alloys, LED taillights, electrochromatic rear-view mirror, and paddle shifters also come along the G model.

The all-new Vios will also include safety features like 7 airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), hill-start assist, and blind spot monitor equipped with rear cross traffic alert.
