Volvo XC90 R-Design Unveiled in UK

Kuala Lumpur: Volvo XC90 originally made a global debut in August 2014. Later, a T8 plug-in hybrid variant was also announced. Now this Swedish automaker has launched XC90 R-Design along with some sporty makeover in the UK. This car has been tweaked with some visual, dynamic and equipment upgrades. Towards the exterior, this 7 seater SUV by Volvo gets a gloss black meshed front grille along with huge LED headlamps. Further, its wing mirrors, window surrounds and roof rails are designed with a matte-silver finish. Elsewhere, it has got powered tailgate and tinted rear windows. Moreover, this huge beast rides on 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, both the front seats are powered ones along with a memory function. The leather-wrapped steering wheels come with R-Design badging and paddle shifters. Behind the steering wheel, a 12.3-inch TFT driver's information display is also provided. The centre console features a 9.0-inch touch screen control system along with a two-zone climate control system. Further, its cockpit also boasts of an ambient lighting system and black headlining.

The safety mechanism of this car includes front, side and full-length curtain airbags. Further, it is also integrated with front collision warning system, driver alert control with lane departure warning and City Safety with pedestrian and cyclist detection. Further, all the variants come equipped with Drive Mode Settings and Adjustable Steering Force. The customers can opt from three powertrain options namely- D5 diesel, T6 petrol and T8 Twin Engine hybrid. The latter has the most chances to be offered in Malaysia. Further, in the UK it is rolled out with a price tag of 49,785 pounds, so here in Malaysia you can expect it to be around RM318,021.
