1000 units of Proton e.MAS 7 delivered; EV leading with 25% market share

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton e.MAS 7 has taken the Malaysian electric vehicle market by storm without any doubt. Within less than two months of its arrival, it grabbed the title of best-selling EV in January 2025, beating top rivals from BYD. Well, here comes a significant sales milestone for Proton’s first EV.

Pro-Net, the official distributor of e.MAS cars has announced the delivery of the 1,000th unit of the e.MAS 7, further highlights the love and attention the EV has been gaining from customers.

This overwhelming response also showcases the rapid acceleration of EV adoption in Malaysia and the trust Malaysians have placed in Proton’s vision for sustainable mobility.

Proton e.MAS 7’s market share

In January 2025, 1,691 pure electric cars were registered in Malaysia, 421 of which were the e.MAS 7. This means the Proton EV has captured a significant 25% share of the local EV market, reinforcing its position as a leader in Malaysia’s growing EV segment.
