2019 Mazda CX-8 pricing revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: The pricing of the 2019 Mazda CX-8 has been published online ahead of its official launch. Mazda Sungai Besi, has uploaded the car’s price list on its official Facebook page. According to the list, 2019 CX-8 price starts from RM 179,960.40 and goes all the way up to RM 217,722.80.

2019 Mazda CX-8 was previewed at the 2019 Malaysia Autoshow and later went on pre-booking towards the beginning of October. It is available in four variants - entry-level 2.5G 2WD Mid, 2.5G 2WD Mid Plus, 2.5G 2WD High, and 2.2D 4WD High. The 2.5G 2WD Mid Plus comes with a price tag of RM 185,960.40, while the 2.5G 2WD High is priced at RM 200,960.40.

Moreover, Mazda CX-8 comes with some add-ons as well. The window tinting costs RM 2,000, while the illuminated sill plates are priced at RM 400. Furthermore, for the Mid and Mid Plus variants, there is an optional leather seat upholstery that costs RM 4,500. The car also has some premium metallic color options, including Soul Red Crystal, Snowflake Pearl White, and Machine Grey.

To recall, all the 2019 Mazda CX-8 variants come with auto-levelling LED headlights having LED DRLs, while the base model has bulb-type DRLs. Moreover, there are additional features like LED taillights, powered tailgate, keyless entry, etc. The car rides on 19-inch alloys, which are wrapped in 225/55 profile tyres.

Getting inside, there is a seven-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system having the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also, electronic parking brake, three-zone automatic climate control having rear air vents, and 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat are available.

All the 2.5-litre models have the same naturally-aspirated four-cylinder SkyActiv-G engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 192 hp, while the peak torque is 258 Nm. On the other hand, the range-topping 2.2L AWD has a turbocharged SkyActiv-D engine, which pushes out a maximum power of 188 hp, and the peak torque is 450 Nm.

2019 Mazda CX-8 specs sheet has several safety features that include six airbags, Isofix child anchors, ABS with EBD and brake assist, Traction Control System, Dynamic Stability Control, Hill Launch Assist, seat belts with pretensions and Emergency Stop Signal.
