2019 Nissan Navara upgraded, gets new touchscreen display and more

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news coming your way! Nissan has given one of its best-selling pickups a significant upgrade. The vehicle in question here is the Navara pickup, that’s also gaining high sales numbers here in Malaysia.

On the outside, not much has been changed by the Japanese automaker. However, we see a new black surround placed around the headlight and rugged new wheel design. And believe us when we say that one needs to take a damn close look to detect what all has been improved.

Helping you in the process, here is a list of all the upgrades done on 2019 Navara -

• Disc brakes for all four wheels, ensuring better stopping
• Increased rear suspension, giving the pickup a robust stance
• Inclusion of dual-stage coil springs
• Base powertrain option now showcases a twin-turbo configuration
• The cabin gets a new 8-inch touchscreen display system with ‘NissanConnect’
• More user-friendly setup that allows for easy access to connected services

It is to be noted that with the aforementioned increased ride height (by 25 mm) and dual-stage coil sprigs, the 2019 Navara now benefits from higher payload capacity and a more aggressive stance.

On all the new inclusions, Nissan’s light commercial vehicle director, Paolo D’Ettore said, “I’m very pleased to announce the launch of the tougher, smarter and more fuel-efficient Navara. Thanks to the combination of comfort, performance, payload, and rugged capability, the Nissan Navara continues to be a huge success across Europe.”

Before getting all happy, please note that all these changes are limited to the Europen market. Let’s hope Nissan Malaysia catches up with the revisions soon.
