2021 Nissan Navara facelift coming soon, here's what we know
KUALA LUMPUR: The internet today is filled with images of unmasked 2021 Nissan Navara. The said image has been traced back to the Instagram account '@cars_secrets' and the Headlightmag website. The pickup in the above image appears to be an entry-level model of the Navara that in the Middle East and South America is badged as Nissan Frontier.
While the spied car is fitted with halogen headlight units, the higher grade variants of Navara facelift are expected to feature the brand's boomerang LED signature lights. Also, visible is the large grille with a thick chrome bezel on the top and sides. The front bumper looks revised with now looking much rugged than before with the ability to option the fog lamps.
The Nissan Navara made its world debut in 2014 in Thailand and it arrived in Malaysia in November 2015. And surprisingly enough, this will be the first time the pickup will be getting a facelift since its debut.
Though much information is not available yet, it is rumoured to be powered by Nissan Terra's 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. In the SUV, this mill makes a maximum power of 190 PS at 3,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 450 Nm at 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. On the transmission front, we wish to see the seven-speed automatic gearbox continue with the duty.
On the safety front, it would be wise on Nissan's part to equip the Navara pickup with its Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist and safety features. On its arrival, the new Nissan Navara will go against the likes of Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and Mitsubishi Triton.
