2026 Volvo EX30 revealed in China with revised lineup and more standard features

KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo has pulled the wraps off the all-new EX30 electric SUV in the Chinese market, introducing a new RWD Plus variant along with additional standard equipment. Let’s dive deeper to know more about the refreshed EV.

2026 Volvo EX30: Variants and price

The upgraded EX30 is offered in three variants in China, with a lower starting price compared to older models, making the electric SUV more accessible in the competitive EV market. The prices are as follows - 

• RWD Plus (replacing RWD Core): CNY 159,800 (RM 91797) 
• RWD Long Range Ultra: CNY 189,800  (RM 109,030)
• AWD Performance Ultra: CNY 209,800 (RM 120,500)

For comparison, the EX30 comes in two variants here - Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance, priced at RM 208,888 and RM 228,888, respectively.

2026 Volvo EX30: Specifications

The new base trim, the RWD Plus, is packed with a wide range of creature comforts compared to its predecessor. It features a wireless smartphone charging pad, power-adjustable seats with memory function for the driver, a Harman Kardon audio system, panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate and Pilot Assist driver assistance system with lane-keeping assist. 

In terms of drivetrain options, the Chinese-spec Volvo EX30 continues with the same rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive setups, delivering the following output and range -

Notably, the upgrade came after a massive global recall issued for the EV last month, concerning its battery overheating issue that could lead to fire risks.
