All-new 2021 Lexus LM local launch scheduled for April 15

KUALA LUMPUR: It was late in December when Lexus Malaysia opened 2021 LM's order books and after four months, the luxury MPV is finally arriving. The launch event has been scheduled for April 15 and will be streamed live on Facebook at 1 pm. The event is open for everyone, all you gotta do is RSVP via the automaker's Facebook page.

What all variants will be on offer?

In Malaysia, Lexus will be offering the LM only in LM 350 guise, the one available in the Indonesian market. The only difference being that here it will be offered in a four-seat layout, the seven-seat version is skipped.

What will power the 2021 LM 350?

Powering the all-new LM 350 will be a 3.5-litre V6 petrol mill making a maximum power of 296 hp and a peak torque of 360 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels through a Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the performance front, the Lexus MPV can hit the top speed of 180 kmph and takes 8.3 seconds to cover a 100 kmph sprint.

Being a Lexus, one can expect the LM to be loaded with features both inside and out. The list includes -

• 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support

• Electronically-controlled glass partition for complete privacy
• 26-inch LCD display screen
• 19-speaker Mark Levinson surround system
• Onboard refrigerator
• Double moonroof
• Touch-based centre console
• Dedicated storage area

On the safety front, the LM 350 is equipped with an amazing set of features thanks to Lexus Safety System+. This suite of safety and driver-assist kit includes a pre-collision system, lane tracing assist, dynamic radar cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist with blind-spot monitor, adaptive high-beam system, and parking support brake. Also onboard are seven airbags.

The 2021 Lexus LM 350 price tag reads RM 1,148,000 (on-road without insurance). It is available in two colour options - pearl white crystal and black.
