All-new 2022 Honda Civic arriving in Singapore tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: The 11-generation Honda Civic first arrived in the Thai market and now it is all set to launch in Singapore. The C-segment sedan will Singapore launch is scheduled for tomorrow, i.e., 12th August 2022. However, interested customers were able to register for the car in May thanks to Honda’s local distributor Khan Motors.

What all the all-new 2022 Civic will offer?

Well, Honda Singapore is numb about most of the details, however, the 11th generation Civic is expected to be available in two engine options - 1.5-Litre VTEC Turbo and CVT. The Thai-spec model is powered by a single 1.5-litre turbo option making a maximum power of 178 PS along with a peak torque of 240 Nm.

The ongoing Singapore-spec Civic is offered in two engine options - a 173PS/220Nm VTEC Turbo and 125PS/152 Nm 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated SOHC 4-cylinder unit. Both the powertrains are paired to a CVT that transmits power to the front wheels.

Furthermore, the new Civic is expected to come standard with a full Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver assistance systems. The Thai-spec model gets it too. The ongoing Civic in Singapore benefits from the LaneWatch system only.

The 11th gen Civic also features a new design language that seems more mature than the previous model. And the sedan has grown over its predecessor, it has a larger footprint and its wheelbase now reads 2,733 mm that’s 33 mm more.

When will the new Civic arrive in Malaysia?

With Thailand enjoying its treat and Singapore launch scheduled for tomorrow, our turn might come soon, say before the end of this year. Also, Sarily Adle Sarkun, Honda Malaysia COO and President hinted that the new sedan could be previewed this year.
