All-new Land Rover Defender V8 arrives in Malaysia; starts from RM 998k

KUALA LUMPUR: Jaguar Land Rover has expanded the Defender lineup in Malaysia with the launch of the all-new Defender V8. It is available in two dynamic variants, the Defender 110 V8 and the Defender 130 V8.

As the name suggests, the new Defender V8 comes powered by a mighty 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, available in two impressive configurations.

Both versions promise a thrilling driving experience, whether navigating urban streets or conquering rugged terrains, claims the automaker.

Adding to performance are an electronic limited-slip rear differential with yaw control, retuned adaptive dampers, solid anti-roll bars, and stiffer suspension bushes. The V8 also features the Terrain Response system with several on- and off-road drive modes and has a 900 mm maximum water wading depth.

Another notable highlight of this high-performance SUV is its unique and powerful sound, thanks to quad exhaust pipes positioned on the sides at the back. It delivers a deep, roaring V8 soundtrack, setting it apart from other Defender variants. 

2025 Land Rover Defender design and features

In terms of design, the new Defender V8 has the same boxy design as its stablemates; however, it does come with a few unique touches like the above-mentioned exhaust pipes, 22-inch matte grey alloy wheels, and V8 door badges.

Inside, the Defender 110 V8 features 40:20:40 heated rear seats with a split-folding design and a centre armrest. The Defender 130 V8, on the other hand, gets 60:40 rear seats with a manual slide and recline system and 40:20:40 folding and third-row seats. The SUV is capable of comfortably carrying eight passengers.
