BMW 218i introduced at BMW World Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has made its debut at BMW World Malaysia 2015 and it opens for public viewing tomorrow, Munich's first compact tourer has made its way to Malaysia in a single variant, 218i.

Talking about the overall dimensions, BMW 218i measures 4342mm x 1800mm x 1555mm (L x W x H) with a wheelbase measuring 2670mm. BMW 218i is powered by a 3-cylinder 1.5-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine which also makes an appearance on BMW i8. This engine brings forth a maximum power output measuring 136 hp between 4500 to 6000 rpm alongside a torque output measuring 220 Nm between 1250 to 4300 rpm. This powertrain is paired with a 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and in terms of performance 218i can brace the 100 kmph mark from an halt in 9.2 seconds while reaching a top speed count of 205 kmph.

 

 

Available in Standard guise in the Malaysian auto market, BMW 218i's general equipment panel includes auto start/stop functionality, LED DRL headlamps, 6-speaker audio system, and a 6.5-inch monitor with a heads-up display. Leather steering wheel is embedded with automatic air conditioning alongside an electronic parking brake.

 

In terms of pricing, BMW 218i gets a price tag of RM 218,800 on road without insurance, and a total of RM 30,000 is added up if you opt for the Luxury Line. BMW 218i comes packed with a 2-years (unlimited mileage) warranty plus a three-years (60,000 km) BMW Service plus Repair inclusive Package.
