Chery Tiggo 9 launched in Malaysia, here’s all you need to know

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery has expanded its Tiggo lineup in Malaysia, with the launch of the Tiggo 9. It is the brand’s largest flagship SUV to date that combines bold design, advanced technology, and refined driving dynamics in one comprehensive package. 

Chery Tiggo 9: Price and early-bird package 

Designed to meet the evolving needs of modern families, the new Chery SUV is offered with two early-bird launch packages, as follows - 

• Flexi package: Priced at RM 166,800, this package includes a 7-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, a 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty, and five years of free labour service.
• Prime package: Priced at RM 179,800, this package includes a RM 5,000 cash rebate, RM 3,000 petrol subsidy, free one-year insurance (worth RM 4,500), a 7-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, a 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty, and five years of free labour service.

Chery Tiggo 9: Key highlights

Commanding road presence 

The Tiggo 9 is a D-segment SUV measuring 4,810 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,741 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. These dimensions offer the vehicle a commanding road presence while ensuring enough space for passengers in all three rows. 

Modern and sophisticated design

The new Chery SUV looks quite modern and sophisticated with an octagonal 3D diamond-embossed grille on the front, which is paired with large air intakes, sleek LED headlights, and dynamic flow DRL lighting. The sharp and sculpted rear design incorporates striking LED taillights and dual exhaust tailpipes. 

Accentuating the side profile are flush door handles and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/50/R20 tyres. Two available colour options are Carbon Black and Matte Grey.

Hi-tech and spacious cabin 

As the largest model in the Tiggo lineup, the Tiggo 9 offers enhanced cabin space and premium comfort, making it ideal for families and long-distance travel. 

The SUV is loaded with a range of advanced features, including.

When it comes to luggage space, the Tiggo 9 will not disappoint you at all, as you get 143 litres of space with all three rows up, 449 litres with the third row folded down, and up to 2,065 litres with two rows of seats folded flat. 

An advanced intelligent AWD system under the bonnet 

At the core of Chery’s flagship SUV lies a 2.0 TGDi engine, paired with an advanced Intelligent  All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system and seven driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Off-Road), enabling seamless adaptability across varying road conditions and driving preferences. 

The powertrain delivers a maximum power of 256 PS and a peak torque of 390 Nm and consumes 8.3 litres of fuel per 100 km. Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

10 airbags and 23 ADAS functions

Built with 85% high-strength steel and 21% hot-formed steel, the largest Tiggo SUV offers improved structural rigidity and enhanced protection. It comes packed with 10 airbags, a 540-degree panoramic camera system, and 23 ADAS functions providing Level 2.5 autonomous driving support.
