KUALA LUMPUR: After a remarkable performance in 2025, Great Wall Motor Malaysia is all set for its next phase of growth in the local market. The Chinese automaker recently revealed its strategic roadmap for 2026–2028 during its annual Media Appreciation Night in Kuala Lumpur.

GWM Malaysia: 2028 targets and vision
Since entering the local market, GWM has steadily expanded its footprint by growing its product range, strengthening its dealer network, and investing in local capabilities. In the upcoming years, the company will focus on technology-led growth with continued investment in products, infrastructure, and people, targeting long-term brand building.

Key strategies include -
- Product expansion plan: GWM has planned to launch the Tank 300 HEV soon, followed by new B-SUV and C-SUV models in 2026–2027, and a future luxury C-SUV at a later stage. The company will follow a multi-powertrain strategy, led by its Hi4 intelligent hybrid system, which will be applied across future models.
- Dealer network and customer experience: The company will be expanding and upgrading its dealer and after-sales network, with a target of having 60 dealer outlets across the country. From 2026, it will adopt new corporate identity standards for a more consistent and premium retail experience across the network.
- Aftersales & customer trust: To strengthen customer satisfaction throughout the vehicle ownership journey, GWM will continue to implement rigorous technical training programmes, maintain 95% nationwide parts fulfilment, and expand its GWM Care system.
- Localisation & ASEAN strategy: The automaker is committed to localisation and CKD operations, with ambitions to position Malaysia as an important ASEAN growth and export hub. It will support the region’s NEVs development, enable technology transfer and strengthen local capabilities with continued talent development.
