Honda CR-V Mugen Concept Showcased At KLIMS 2018
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has showcased a special edition concept of its popular CR-V crossover at the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show. Called the CR-V Mugen Concept, this new version gets multiple cosmetic tweaks that lend the crossover a beefier look. Honda has also showcased the Jazz Mugen at the ongoing motor show.
Primary changes on the outside include the addition of a body kit. The CR-V 1.5-litre Turbo variant gets a lower bumper extension along with a Mugen badge that is located on the upper part of the grille. Another Mugen badge is located at the rear, while the side skirts are finished in body colour. The showcased model adorned a new Passion Red Pearl paint scheme. This is the same colour that was introduced on the HR-V RS.
Sadly, the alloys haven’t been upgraded as the CR-V Mugen continues to ride on 18-inch alloys that are the same units found on the regular model. No mechanical changes have been made on the special edition version.
Though Honda hasn’t revealed any launch timeline of a production version of the CR-V Mugen concept, reports suggest that the company will surely introduce it as a limited edition version. There is also a possibility of the new red colour scheme being limited to the CR-V Mugen edition. Though the concept showcased at KLIMS 2018 only got exterior changes, we expect the production variant to get a few interior add-ons as well.
