KUALA LUMPUR: The iCAUR V23 has scored a full 5-Star rating under ASEAN NCAP’s latest 2021–2025 assessment protocol, with an overall score of 91.02 points, according to iCAUR Malaysia.

The company says the score places the V23 among the stronger performers tested under the current 2021–2025 protocol, and notes it is also the first fully electric off-road SUV to be assessed by ASEAN NCAP.
Announcing the achievement, Chery Corporate Malaysia, Executive Vice President, Men Lin Bo, said, “The iCAUR V23 introduces an exciting and dynamic approach to EV mobility that also places vehicle safety at the forefront. This 5-Star ASEAN NCAP achievement reaffirms our commitment to delivering high levels of safety, while also demonstrating our strong support for the Malaysian government through close collaboration with agencies such as MIROS in advancing vehicle safety standards and awareness nationwide.”
On the hardware side, iCAUR points to the V23’s structure, which it describes as a cage-like frame made up of 70% high-strength steel. The brand also highlights the vehicle’s Battery Management System (BMS), saying it provides high-voltage protection along with liquid-cooled temperature management, aimed at keeping the battery safe even in the event of a collision.
Safety equipment is a standard fitment across both variants. The iCAUR V23 comes with six airbags and Level 2 ADAS for both the 2WD and iWD versions.
Supporting the driver-assist suite is a millimetre-wave radar that is integrated into the vehicle body, which the company says is intended to improve detection accuracy across different driving environments.
