MAS 2025: Zeekr 7X previewed in Malaysia; starts from RM 182k

KUALA LUMPUR: Geely’s premium sub-brand Zeekr entered the local market last year with two striking EVs - 009 and X. The automaker has now introduced its third model, called Zeekr 7X, at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025.

Set to compete against the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7, the Zeekr 7X is a mid-sized electric SUV based on Geely’s PMA2+ platform, which we can also find under the Smart #5.

Variants and pricing

Zeekr Malaysia will offer the 7X in three variants - RWD Standard, RWD Long Range, and AWD Performance, priced as follows -

Notably, these indicative prices apply only to the first 500 customers.

Dimensions 

The new Zeekr EV measures 4825 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, 1656 mm in height and has a 2925-mm long wheelbase. Compared to the Tesla Model Y, it is 75 mm longer, 10 mm wider, and 32 mm higher. The EV has a 616-litre boot space that can easily accommodate three 28-inch suitcases.

Design

The sleek and futuristic 7X underpins Zeekr’s "Hidden Energy" design philosophy with a classic luxury SUV silhouette, a clamshell hood, and a floating roof. One of the most notable highlights is the "Zeekr Stargate” headlight system featuring a sleek LED display that can show messages and images.

The EV is kitted with fully automatic frameless doors with concealed door handles. At the rear, we can find striking LED tail lights extending from one end to another. 

Interior

The EV has a larger wheelbase for a roomier cabin, exceptional handling, and enhanced NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) control. The premium SUV is engineered for families and discerning lifestyle seekers and comes loaded with several creature comforts.

While no details are yet available on the cabin features, the global-spec model comes with a 16-inch HD infotainment unit powered by Qualcomm’s 8295 Snapdragon chip, an optional 36.2-inch augmented reality head-up display and advanced driver-assistance systems.

Drivetrain, range and charging

Built on an enhanced 800V electrical system, the Zeekr 7X offers ultra-fast charging capability for added convenience and efficiency. The EV can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds.

The new Zeekr EV promises to offer a driving range of up to 600 km (on the WLTP cycle), making long-distance journeys seamless. The SUV is also equipped with Adaptive Air Suspension, ensuring a refined and responsive drive at all times.
