The annual event continues to serve as a platform that doesn’t just celebrate luxury, but redefines it.

On display: a curated lineup of 16 local and regional designers alongside the highly anticipated debut of the all-new electric G-Class, marking a significant milestone for Mercedes-Benz as it leans further into electrification without shedding its iconic design DNA.

“At Mercedes-Benz, being iconic means evolving with intention – through innovation, design, and a commitment to a more sustainable future,” said Nadia Trimmel, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. “MBFWKL continues to be a platform where creativity meets purpose... proving that timeless design and sustainability can progress together.”

    Electric G-Class makes Malaysian debut

The biggest automotive highlight this year for Mercedes Benz Malaysia is undoubtedly the new electric G-Class, showcased for the first time in Malaysia.

The fully electric version retains its boxy silhouette but is now part of Mercedes-Benz’s growing portfolio of electric luxury vehicles. Its appearance at a fashion week underlines the brand’s evolving identity—powerful yet cleaner, iconic yet future-ready.

The electric G-Class might just be the one of the most affordable G-class ever to be sold in Malaysia due to the tax reliefs applied to electric vehicles.

Also showcased was the full Mercedes-AMG line-up, including:

    • GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé (new)

    • GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE

    • SL 63 4MATIC+

    • G 63

    • A 45 S 4MATIC+ Limited Edition

    • EQE 53 4MATIC+

These models were perhaps chosen to represent Mercedes-Benz’s duality—power and polish—mirroring the blend of aesthetics and performance seen in the fashion world.

    Spotlight on designers

MBFWKL 2025 isn’t short on talent. Big names like Justin Yap, Dickson Lim, Khoon Hooi, and Coterie by Celest Thoi returned to the runway, offering collections that walk the line between heritage and innovation.

Dickson Lim is trying to impress with layering and textured contrasts, while Justin Yap’s collection highlighted strong silhouettes with precise tailoring.

Emerging voices also had their moment. SETH&LUNA MALAYA fused local storytelling with functional, modular clothing. TEMMA PRASETIO from Jakarta delivered minimalist, gender-neutral tailoring, and retail names JNBY and SEIBU Kuala Lumpur made their runway debuts with versatile, ready-to-wear designs.

Running concurrently was a Mercedes-Benz roadshow (9–15 June) that culminated in the fashion week itself. Visitors can get up close with the electric G-Class and various AMG models, as Mercedes-Benz continues to use lifestyle platforms to introduce the next chapter of its luxury mobility story.
