MINI Countryman S ALL4 Desert Night Edition in Malaysia: 48 units, 2.0T all-wheel drive, from RM267,333

MINI Countryman S ALL4 Desert Night Edition in Malaysia: 48 units, 2.0T all-wheel drive, from RM267,333

KUALA LUMPUR: MINI Malaysia has launched the Countryman S ALL4 Desert Night Edition, limited to 48 units and priced from RM267,333 on the road without insurance.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How much is the MINI Countryman S ALL4 Desert Night Edition in Malaysia?

RM267,333 on the road without insurance, or RM277,733 with the extended warranty and service package.
  • What is the difference between this and the standard Countryman S ALL4?

Desert Night accents on the C-pillar, D-pillar and front bumper, hub caps with matching valve caps, a steering wheel badge, floor mat piercing and a key cap. MINI also lists Active Cruise Control and MINI Driving Assistant Plus as standard. The standard 2026 Countryman S ALL4 is RM260,888, so the Desert Night Edition costs RM6,445 more.
  • It is a trim and equipment package rather than a new model, and the early bird rebate expires on 4 October 2026, which is interestingly the closing day of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang.

Only 48 units are coming to Malaysia. That splits into 30 cars in Smokey Green and 18 in Slate Blue, both of which are already standard colours on the regular Countryman S ALL4, so the exclusivity here is in the badge count rather than the paint.

What you actually get for the extra money

Let's be clear about what changes. Outside, there are Desert Night accents on the C-pillar and D-pillar, a Desert Night signature on the front bumper, plus hub caps with matching valve caps. Inside, you get a Desert Night badge on the steering wheel, a Desert Night piercing on the floor mats, and a matching key cap.

That is a decal and trim package. No power bump, no suspension changes, no bespoke wheels.

The more meaningful addition is on the equipment list. MINI says Active Cruise Control is standard on the Countryman for the first time, alongside MINI Driving Assistant Plus.

Since cruise control specifications on the local Countryman have been listed slightly differently before, it is worth having your sales advisor walk you through exactly which functions are included on this car.

Mechanically, nothing has moved. The Desert Night Edition uses the same B48 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder producing 204 PS and 300 Nm, driving all four wheels through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch and the ALL4 system.

Zero to 100 km/h takes 7.4 seconds and top speed is 228 km/h. Remember that the locally assembled Countryman S ALL4 drops the 48-volt mild hybrid system that the earlier fully imported car had, which is why it is a few tenths slower than that version.

    The price

The Desert Night Edition is RM267,333 on the road without insurance, or RM277,733 with the extended warranty and service package.

The standard 2026 Countryman S ALL4 sits at RM260,888 and RM271,288 respectively, so MINI is asking RM6,445 extra for the stickers, caps and driver assistance kit.

Here is where it gets interesting for Malaysian buyers. Book before 4 October 2026 and there is an RM12,000 Early Bird Cash Rebate.

Finance it through the MINI Easy Drive Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia and another RM10,000 in financing support is added, for RM22,000 total.

On paper, the rebate alone more than wipes out the premium over the standard car. Just note that the full RM22,000 is only on the table if you take the loan, so a cash buyer is looking at RM12,000, not RM22,000.

MINI quotes instalments from RM2,271 a month on Easy Drive, based on a 75 percent loan over five years, or RM2,185 a month on the Straight-Line plan over nine years. That second figure deserves a moment of thought. You are stretching the loan by four extra years to save around RM86 a month.

If you were already shopping in this bracket, cross-shopping a MINI Countryman against a BMW X1, a Mercedes-Benz GLA, or a Volvo XC40, this is a straightforward call.

The rebate makes an equipment-boosted Countryman cheaper than a plain one, and you get a car that 47 other people in the country will own. If you were not already shopping, a set of Desert Night valve caps is not going to change that.

Ownership terms are unchanged from the rest of the range. There is a two-year warranty as standard with an optional extension, the MINI Service and Repair Inclusive programme covering four years of unlimited mileage warranty and four years or 60,000 km of servicing, and five years of MINI Roadside Assistance reachable on 1800-88-8808. Service appointments can be booked at service.mini.my.

The New MINI Countryman S ALL4 Desert Night Edition is on sale in Malaysia now, with bookings for the early bird rebate closing 4 October 2026.

Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, said: "There is something captivating about the desert after dark. The landscape transforms, the atmosphere becomes more intense, and every journey feels like a new adventure waiting to unfold. The New MINI Countryman S ALL4 Desert Night Edition captures exactly that spirit. With exclusive design elements, enhanced technology and the confidence of ALL4 all-wheel drive, it encourages our customers to embrace every road with curiosity, confidence and a sense of discovery. Whether inspired by desert landscapes or Malaysian highways after sunset, this special edition celebrates the joy of exploring what lies beyond the horizon."
