While 900 deliveries within the first month is not a massive number by national car standards, it is a healthy opening figure for Mitsubishi in Malaysia, especially in a segment that is already packed with strong contenders.

For Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, the early response suggests that the Xforce has managed to find some traction among buyers looking for a compact SUV with a bold design, practical packaging, and the familiar Mitsubishi badge.

The Xforce enters a very busy SUV market, where buyers now have plenty of choices across Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and national brands. That makes this early delivery figure an encouraging start, although the bigger test will be whether demand can be sustained beyond the initial launch period and early-bird buyers.

“We are truly grateful for the overwhelming response to the All-New Mitsubishi Xforce. Achieving 900 deliveries within the first month of launch is a strong testament to the confidence our customers have in the Mitsubishi brand and in this exciting new model,” said Takashi Sakamaki, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.

He added, “To our customers, thank you for being among the first to embrace the Xforce and for your trust in us. Your support means a great deal to everyone at Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia. We remain committed to ensuring a smooth delivery experience while continuing to provide the quality, reliability, and driving confidence that define Mitsubishi vehicles.”

The Mitsubishi Xforce is locally assembled in Malaysia, joining the Mitsubishi Xpander as part of MMM’s CKD line-up. The Triton pick-up truck, meanwhile, continues to be imported as a CBU model from Thailand.

The local assembly angle is important because it helps Mitsubishi position the Xforce more competitively in Malaysia, while also giving the brand a fresh product in one of the country’s most active vehicle segments.

The Xforce is aimed at buyers who want a compact SUV that is easy to live with daily, but still has enough presence and practicality for weekend use. Its styling is clearly more adventurous than the Xpander, while its size and positioning place it closer to the current wave of city-friendly SUVs.

For Mitsubishi, the Xforce also gives the brand a much-needed product outside of its usual Triton and Xpander comfort zone. The Triton remains a strong name in the pick-up market, while the Xpander has found its audience among families. The Xforce now gives MMM a more conventional SUV product to compete in a space where Malaysian demand remains strong.

The company currently has 60 showrooms nationwide, including 10 4S outlets, along with 60 service centres across Malaysia. In East Malaysia, MMM is represented by 15 showrooms, with eight in Sarawak and seven in Sabah. The company also has 30 authorised body and paint repair outlets in key cities.

With the Xforce now added to its local range, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia will be hoping that the compact SUV can do more than create a short launch buzz. The 900-unit delivery figure gives it a decent opening chapter, but the real measure will be how well the SUV performs once the early launch momentum settles.
