Pro-Net expands EV network across Malaysia; opens new e.MAS and smart outlets

KUALA LUMPUR: Pro-Net, the official distributor of Proton e.MAS and smart EVs, has been actively expanding its ecosystem to provide Malaysians with a better EV ownership experience. Three new Proton e.MAS dealerships and one new smart dealership are now operational, enhancing the brand’s presence in both East and West Malaysia.

There are a total of 35 fully operational Proton e.MAS dealerships in Malaysia, offering both sales and after-sales services to EV customers.

Proton e.MAS: 35 dealerships now operational, 47 appointed

With the opening of these new centres, the Proton e.MAS operational network has grown to 35 (as of June 2025). However, the number of appointed ones has reached 47. The growing network includes 25 3S centres, 31 DC fast charging stations, and 10 Body and Paint centres. Together, these facilities provide a seamless and confident ownership journey for Proton EV customers.

Proton e.MAS, which completed one year of its formation this month, has seen rapid growth and rising public confidence. And the testament to that is the reception of the brand’s first EV, the e.MAS 7. Launched back in December, the EV has become Malaysia’s fastest-selling electric vehicle in just five months. The automaker has sold 3,632 EVs (as of May 31), comprising 3,399 units locally and 233 exported.

To commemorate the Proton e.MAS 1st Anniversary, a special “Peace of Mind” campaign has also been rolled out for the existing e.MAS owners. Running till July 1, 2025, the promo offers a complimentary 32-point vehicle and software inspection.

Smart first dealership in East Malaysia

Alongside Proton e.MAS, Pro-Net also opened the doors of a new smart outlet in Sabah, which marks the first official expansion beyond Peninsular Malaysia, enabling customers in East Malaysia to explore smart EVs up and close. It is operated by Fook Loi Corporation and offers both the smart #1 and smart #3 models under one roof.

The Kota Kinabalu showroom features EV-ready facilities and trained personnel, giving Sabahans access to a premium EV experience backed by full support and services.

Commenting on the expansion, Mr Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, said: “We are proud of how far we have come in just one year. Our growing network is more than just numbers. It is about being closer to the people. Every new dealership means a new community we can support on their EV journey. We are confident that more Malaysians will feel ready and excited to make the switch. This is how we build the future together, step by step, from city centres to East Malaysia.”

    Looking ahead

With two strong EV brands under its wing, Pro-Net holds one of the country's most robust new energy dealership networks. It has been working closely with local councils, utility partners, and developers to scale its dealer network in the coming months, offering charging infrastructure to customer education and service excellence.
