KEY TAKEAWAYS
What new features were revealed in the upcoming Proton e.MAS 7 OTA update?
The OTA update will introduce easier charging controls via the touchscreen and app, improved ABS tuning, better battery preheating, and auto-unlock when battery prep is complete. What was the purpose of the Proton e.MAS 7 Hari Raya open house event?
It served as both a festive gathering and a feedback session where owners could share their experiences and suggestions directly with PRO-NET.The event wasn’t just about lemang and rendang. It doubled as a town hall session between owners, PRO-NET staff, and tech experts to talk about the car, the app, and what’s next for Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle.

More than 200 guests attended the second owners’ meet-up of the year, which focused on connecting Proton’s early EV adopters with the brand’s development team.

Users had the opportunity to give direct feedback on the Proton e.MAS 7’s software features, ownership experience, and their wishlist for upcoming updates.
“Today’s event is more than a celebration—it’s a statement of appreciation and unity,” said Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET. “The Proton e.MAS 7 would not have reached its No. 1 position without the early support of our PIONEER owners. You are the heart of this growing community. As we continue to build the Proton e.MAS ecosystem together, your feedback and presence drive us to do better every day.”

What's Coming Next
PRO-NET also offered owners a glimpse into its upcoming Over-The-Air (OTA) update roadmap. Among the key features in the pipeline:
- Simplified charging controls on both the touchscreen and mobile app
- Improved ABS tuning for better ride comfort
- Battery preheating and hibernation mode updates for better performance
- Auto-unlocking once battery prep for scheduled drives is complete
Attendees were also briefed on best practices for battery care—whether their e.MAS 7s are running on LFP or NMC battery types—helping them get the most out of their EVs in the long run.

Infrastructure and Trust Still Matter
To date, PRO-NET says there are now more than 2,300 public charging points available nationwide, covering 90% of the country. For many owners, that growing infrastructure, combined with Proton’s nationwide dealer presence, made the e.MAS 7 an easy choice.
“It’s great to see PROTON stepping into the EV space. For me, choosing the e.MAS 7 was easy—it’s a national brand I trust, and with dealers available nationwide, it gives me peace of mind,” said Mr Azwan, an owner from Perak.
Another owner, Mr Amin, added, “My e.MAS 7 has changed how I look at daily driving. The performance, the tech, and the low running cost—it’s the future. But what’s even better is knowing that Proton wants to hear from us directly.”

According to PRO-NET, 1,853 units of the e.MAS 7 have already been delivered in Q1 2025, giving the model a 26% YTD market share in the EV space.
As the numbers grow, so does the need for strong community engagement—something PRO-NET appears committed to delivering through events like this.
