Proton receiving 500 bookings daily for the 2019 Saga
MANILA: On the course of revamping its complete portfolio, Proton recently revealed the 2019 model of the Saga, which is one of the most selling compact sedans in Malaysia. Yeah, we know that the Proton X70 has been making waves ever since its inception, however, the Saga continues to hold its spot in the hearts of the Malaysians. And, the testament of the fact is the 500 bookings that are being made every day for the refreshed sedan.
During the media test drive, Cheng Seng Fook, who is the director of marketing at Proton, cited that the automaker is receiving around 500 bookings every day since the launch of the 2019 Saga last week. While the director of marketing did not reveal the exact figures, he asserted that every day there were 500 bookings on an average. Considering the flood of bookings, it won't be any wrong in saying that Proton has already received over or around 4,000 orders for the newest iteration of Saga.
As expected, all the customers who have placed an order won't be getting their Saga delivered anytime soon. Proton itself has accepted that the production volume is not equal to the number of bookings and many of the buyers will be made to wait for their unit. "Not all the orders can be converted, especially for an entry-level car. The rule of thumb is that first-time buyers will generally find it difficult to get a loan", said Cheng Seng Fook.
