KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Mobility Show 2026 has been going on in full swing in Malaysia, showcasing an exciting range of upcoming models and innovative vehicle concepts while attracting auto enthusiasts from across the country. Alongside vehicle displays, automakers are also hosting special activities and engagement sessions at the event to connect with visitors and brand communities. One such example is the MG Car Club Gathering organised by SAIC Motor Malaysia this weekend.

Kelab MG Malaysia and MG EV Club Malaysia join the gathering
The MG Car Club Gathering event also united members of Kelab MG Malaysia and MG EV Club Malaysia, reflecting the growing and increasingly diverse community of MG owners.
Established 50 years ago, Kelab MG Malaysia is one of the country’s longest-standing automotive clubs, formed by passionate MG owners. MG EV Club Malaysia, on the other hand, represents a new generation of MG enthusiasts embracing electric mobility. It has approx 360 members nationwide.
Showcases MG's electrified lineup and heritage models
Visitors can check out the brand’s electrified lineup as well as heritage models -
- Modern EVs, including MGS5 EV, MG ZS, MG4 and Cyberster
- Classic MG models from the 1960s and 1970s, including the MG TD, MG YT (Tourer), MG Midget, MGB GT, and the MGA
Johnny Chandnani, Past President of Kelab MG Malaysia, highlighted the longevity of these classic vehicles. "As we celebrate 50 years of Kelab MG Malaysia, it is rewarding to see heritage models and modern MG vehicles come together, reflecting the evolution of a brand admired for more than a century," he said.
Meanwhile, the President of MG EV Club Malaysia, James Lew En Loong, reflected on his personal journey with the brand and said, "My journey with MG began when I switched to an EV in 2025, drawn by the brand's technology and driving experience. Seeing modern MG EVs alongside heritage models today offered a unique glimpse into the brand's rich legacy," said Lew. "As more MG EV models enter the market and the charging infrastructure expands, we look forward to welcoming a more diverse community of owners. We are proud to be part of MG's ongoing evolution and excited for the future of the community."

Visitors can also participate in the #MyMGKLIMSMoment2026 social media contest, running from 12 to 21 June 2026. Key highlights are as follows -

New MG ZS and IM6 take centre stage at KLIMS 2026
Beyond celebrating the MG community and heritage at the Kuala Lumpur Mobility Show 2026, SAIC Motor Malaysia previewed the all-new MG ZS and a new brand, IM (Intelligence in Motion), which sits above the MG range as a separate premium sub-brand under the SAIC umbrella. The first IM model heading to the local market is the IM6 D-segment coupe electric SUV.
Bookings for the 2026 MG ZS are now open nationwide, ahead of the official launch. Customers who book the upgraded SUV during the promotional period can enjoy a cash rebate of RM 3,000, three years of free scheduled maintenance, and priority delivery upon launch.
