Toyota Malaysia order books open for 2020 Hilux

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news for buyers looking for a great, responsive pickup truck. On the 3rd of August 2020, Toyota Malaysia announced that it’s accepting orders for the new and improved Hilux. The pickup will be soon available at the dealerships nationwide, and customers will have a choice of five variants.

Besides showcasing a refreshed look, the new Hilux is also known to pack enhanced performance and safety kit. The 2020 Hilux price is estimated to range between RM 93,880 to RM 148,880. The company has started an Early Bird Special Price of RM 144,880 that applies to only the range-topping Hilux variant, the D/CAB 2.8 Rogue AT 4x4. The 2020 Hilux full price list will be issued once the pickup gets launched.

Now enough of the booking details, coming to the vehicle in question, the 2020 Hilux. The Japanese automaker teased us with the all-new Hilux for quite some time, seeing which we had a high expectation from the vehicle.

The 2020 Toyota Hilux will feature a revised design whose bits can be seen on the front grille, front bumper, and fog lamp bezel. Besides, the range-topping Hilux trim features a new bonnet moulding and skid plate. The base trim, on the other hand, gets options of 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Likewise, the Hilux flagship model interior benefits with features like new interior trim design, new key cover design, new meter design, and illuminated door trim garnish.

The 2020 Hilux will be available in two engine options, depending on the variant picked. The smaller-displacement 2.4-litre mill will make a maximum power of 150 PS and 400 Nm of peak torque. Another one is a new punchy unit, a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine developing 204 PS and 500 Nm. On the transmission is a choice of either 6-speed manual and automatic.

The key highlight of the new 2020 Hilux is the inclusion of the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suit. It includes three systems, namely - Lane Departure Alert with Yaw Assist, Pre-Collision System, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
