KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor marked an end to August 2023 by accelerating its growth further with total sales of 10,275 units, comprising 10,033 units for Toyota and 242 units for Lexus. In July 2023, the sales figure was 8,349 units.

In the month of August, Toyota has substantially enhanced the Corolla series to broaden its product offering. These massive upgrades include the introduction of the 2023 Corolla IMP (improvement) model and the Corolla GR Sport variant.When evaluating the cumulative sales up to August 2023, the total sales figure stands at 67,283 units, compared to 61,639 units in the previous year for the same period. This showcases 9.2% year-on-year growth for the first eight months of 2023. The monthly sales of August 2023 demonstrated a 13% increase in comparison to the same month's sales figure in the prior year.
Toyota has substantially enhanced the Corolla series to broaden its product offering. These massive upgrades include the introduction of the 2023 Corolla IMP (improvement) model and the Corolla GR Sport variant. The starting price of the Corolla GR Sport is RM152,800, while the 2023 Corolla IMP model has been priced at RM139,800.
Toyota also updated the Innova, Hilux, and Fortuner models in September. The Hilux GR Sport, in particular, received a substantial power boost. It now delivers an impressive power of around 224PS and 550Nm of torque. This makes the Hilux GR Sport the most powerful pick-up in its class.
