2019 Porsche Macan S introduced in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The facelifted Porsche Macan made its Malaysian debut only two months back, and now Sime Darby Auto Performance - Porsche’s local importer & distributor has introduced the Macan S. The 2019 Macan S price will set you back by RM 625,000 (excluding road tax, registration, and insurance).

The Macan S is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo petrol engine that poops out a maximum power of 354 hp along with a peak torque of 480 Nm. The turbocharged unit is placed within the cylinder bank for shorter tracts, thus leading to better throttle response. The power is sent to all-four wheels via a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox. On the performance front, the Macan S can cover 0 to 100 kmph distance in 5.1 seconds with the Sport Chrono kit. Its top speed rests at 254 kmph, the combined CO2 emission is 204 g/km, and it offers a mileage of 11.24 kmpl.

The Porsche Macan S chassis gets staggered-width tyres and wheels with Porsche Traction Management. Its ride height-adjustable air suspension gets an active damper control, and the optionally available Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus further enhances the car’s handling.

The 2019 Porsche Macan S specs feature a lot of new elements over its predecessor like the large front brake discs that are now 10 mm larger and 2 mm thicker. The company says that special attention has been paid to brake pedal feel for a more precise pressure point. For a stronger braking performance, customers can also opt for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system.

On the design front, the car gains updated front and rear bumpers, a three-dimensional panel at the rear, 4-point LED at both ends. Also, one can opt for the Porsche Dynamic Lighting Plus system for headlamps at extra cost.

The cabin now benefits from the new Porsche Communication Management that includes a 10.9-inch touch display in place of the previous smaller unit. The air-con vents are now relocated to accommodate the new unit. The GT sports steering wheel gets Sport Response control and mode dial (Sport Chrono package).
