2020 Proton X50: Maintenance Guide

After the X70 SUV, the X50 is the second product coming out of a licencing agreement inked between Proton and Geely in 2018. While the former is the rebadged version of Geely Boyue, the latter is based on the Geely Binyue (also known as the Coolray, in few markets, including the Philippines).

What else these two cars have in common? Well, like the X70, the X50 will also be a locally-assembled car. Therefore, the maintenance cost would be considerably low compared to a CBU car. Further, the X50, though based on the Binyue, borrows certain design cues from its bigger sibling - the 70, like the 'Infinite Wave' grille, prominent bulges on the front fender, blacked-out D-pillars, and deep shoulder creases. Lastly, we expect the X50 to achieve the same retail success as the X70, giving tough competition to its rivals.

One of the most used car parts that constantly come in contact with the road is the tyre. And therefore needs to be checked and if required needs to be replaced. It is advised the owners check the tyre pressure regularly and get tyre rotation done every six months.

Oil and fluid change

Every car requires periodic oil and fluid checks and changes (if required). The engine needs to be oiled regularly for its proper functioning, else dirty oil would cause damage to the internal parts.
