2022 Toyota Supra A91-CF Edition debuts, limited to 600 units

KUALA LUMPUR: For sports car enthusiasts out there, the Supra nameplate is synonymous with Toyota performance. The rear-wheel-drive coupe offers amazing levels of speed, power, and style, which once again spruced up with the introduction of a new special edition. Dubbed as the Supra A91-CF Edition, the new model gets an appearance as well as aerodynamic enhancements. The 'CF' in the moniker stands for carbon fiber. 

Limited to just 600 units, this 2022 special edition will be exclusively available in North America. Exterior color options include Absolute Zero (white), Nitro Yellow, and Phantom Matte Grey.

Speaking about the body kit, the 2022 GR Supra A91-CF gets larger canards and a fully functional aero kit made from carbon fibre. The latter improves the downforce and overall stability of the car, both at the track and street-legal speeds. Added to the new elements are a new front splitter, a carbon-fibre ducktail spoiler, and carbon fibre chunky side skirts. Complementing these add-ons are 19-inch wheels finished in matte black with contrasting red brake calipers and the Supra logo. 

Just like the exterior, the special edition Supra interior also gets sporty treatment. We can see carbon fibre trimmings on the dashboard, sports pedals, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and contrast red stitching on the power-adjustable sport seats. Also, the cabin is trimmed in Alcantara and leather in a combination of black and red. 

Included in the Safety & Technology package are adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, wireless Apple CarPlay, an in-dash navigation system, and more.

On the mechanical front, the A91-CF Supra Edition is equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine which generates a maximum power output of 382 hp. The engine along with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission enabled the RWD coupe to hit 96 kmph sprint in just 3.9 seconds. 

Besides these, the Supra’s already-incredible features like Adaptive Variable Sport suspension, active rear sport differential, and front Brembo brakes are continued to be available as standard in the CF model.

Toyota is set to roll out the 2022 Supra A91-CF Edition in the US showrooms this fall. Prices are yet to be announced.
