All-new Lexus RX facelift arrived in Malaysia, price starts at RM 399,888

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new 2019 Lexus RX facelift was globally revealed a few months back in May, and now it’s here in Malaysia. The new model seems to get some subtle design changes along with a new equipment list.

In Malaysia, the new Lexus RX is offered in three variants -

• RX300 Premium at RM 399,888
• RX300 Luxury at RM 424,888
• RX300 F Sport at RM 439,888

Note that all the prices mentioned above are on-the-road without insurance and include a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

Under the hood of the three trims rests the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that churns out a maximum output of 235 hp at 4,800 to 5,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 350 Nm at 1,650 to 4,000 rpm. The said unit is coupled with a 6-speed automatic gearbox along with all-wheel-drive that comes as standard.

Though the powerplant is similar, its dynamics are improved for the RX, all thanks to the new hollow stabilizer bars to cut down the weight, and they are also thicker in diameter. Besides, it comes with improved steering response and reduced body roll from reinforced bushings.

On the outside, the changes include the brand’s signature spindle grille, and sleek ‘triple eye’ LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The headlight also features Lexus Adaptive Highbeam System with BladeScan. At the rear is present LED taillights with sequential turn indicators and L-shaped graphics, tweaked faux diffuser, and slimmer lower apron with chrome trim.
