BMW G20 3 Series to debut at the Paris Motor Show 2018

KUALA LUMPUR: It looks like that the German automaker is now on a spree to tease auto enthusiasts. Soon after announcing the official reveal of the new 2019 BMW 3 Series G20, BMW has released three new teaser images.

The images reveal the range-topping M performance variant, the M340i. This can be inferred by looking at one of the images that show left-front 5 twin-spoke alloy of the sedan with the trademark M logo on the brake caliper and the M badge on the front fender.

The edging of front headlamps is also visible along with a strong crease lower down the fender and sharp corners of the front bumper. Aside from this, a teaser image revealed earlier displayed the presence of the traditional double-kidney grille flanked by headlamps at the front. The headlamps embraced L-shaped LED daytime running lights which are the same pattern of LEDs expected to feature at the rear end as well.

Another teaser image reveals a little about the interiors, featuring the M steering wheel with mounted controls, switchgear on the door panel, chrome-garnished driver-side AC vent and some part of the instrument cluster, which is expected to come with the iDrive system.

Moreover, BMW revealed in the past about the presence of the Intelligent Personal Assistant. Some more features that are expected to be present include the X5’s climate control, gear lever and iDrive Controller.

The final image shows the lip spoiler integrated into the boot, shark-fin antenna and a revised angular rear-side design that replaces the Hofmeister kink.

In the engine department, expect the new 3 Series G20 M variant to feature an advanced version of the B58 six-cylinder, turbocharged 3.0-litre engine. While the lower-end variants are likely to house a turbocharged, four-cylinder 2.0-litre gasoline, diesel engines. With rumours going around, we expect a hybrid powertrain and an all-electric version to be uncovered too.
