Chery Tiggo 7 Pro coming to Malaysia; ROI open

KUALA LUMPUR: After introducing the Omoda E5, Chery Malaysia is now geared up for the launch of the Tiggo 7 Pro. The automaker has started accepting registrations for the SUV through its official website, offering customers an early opportunity to express interest and stay updated on the latest updates regarding the upcoming model.

Locally previewed back in 2022, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is a C-segment SUV underpinning the brand’s T1X platform. It will be offered as a locally assembled model, built in Kulim, Kedah. 

Slotted between the Tiggo 8 Pro and Omoda 5, the upcoming Chery SUV measures 4,513 mm in length, 1862 mm in width, and 1696 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2670 mm. It has a 626-litre boot capacity, expandable up to 1672 litres with the rear seats folded.

Design-wise, the Tiggo 7 Pro looks robust and sporty with its bold creases and lines and prominent wheel arches. The front end features a chrome-framed hexagonal front grille with a ‘galaxy-inspired geometric matrix diamond mesh pattern. It comes mated to sleek LED headlights, T-shaped daytime running lights, and fog lights. At the back, we can find a full-width lighting unit and an integrated tailgate spoiler housing triple brake lights.

As confirmed earlier, the Malaysia-spec Chery Tiggo 7 Pro will come equipped with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo engine tuned to deliver a maximum power of 197 hp and a peak torque of 290 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox enabling the vehicle to hit the century sprint in 8.3 seconds.

In terms of features, the upcoming Tiggo 7 Pro is expected to get the following bits -

The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is expected to launch in the second quarter of the year. Once launched, the SUV will square up against the Proton X70, Honda CR-V, and Mazda CX-5.
