Facelifted Porsche Macan is here; price starts from RM 445k

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the official distributor and importer of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia has finally launched the Macan facelift in the country. The car has arrived in a single, base model guise and is priced at RM 455,00. The car is now open for booking.

Note, the price mentioned above includes all applicable duties but excludes road tax, insurance, and registration.

The base trim of the Porsche Macan is the easiest way one can access the marque’s model range. The Porsche Cayman base model is tuned with the 2.0-litre mill is the brand’s entry-level sports car, priced at RM 530,000.

For the time being, the Macan would be available in only one trim option locally. Overseas, it is also available as Macan S model that is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo petrol mill.

Like before, the Porsche Macan facelift still rests on the MLB longitudinal layout platform. It is powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four turbo petrol mill that churns out a maximum power of 252 PS along with a peak torque of 370 Nm. The power is sent down to all four wheels via a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. On the performance front, the car can touch the 100 kmph mark in 6.7 seconds and its top speed is 255 kmph.

The outside now showcases a few visual upgrades like - revised headlamp LED cluster, a new three-dimensional light panel on the rear, taillamps get four-point LED design, and a new front and rear bumper.

On the inside, the centre console now houses the new Porsche Communication Management that operates on a wider 10.9-inch touchscreen monitor (7.2-inch on previous-gen model). The air-con vents are now relocated custody the bigger infotainment system.

For the Malaysian market, the Macan gets the Premium Package as a standard fitment. This kit includes - Power Steering Plus Park Assist, 14-way power-adjustable front seats with memory function, a Bose sound system, ambient lighting, and self-dimming mirrors.

The Sport Chrono package is available as optional fitment and it includes a wide range of wheel selection (from 18- to 21-inches) and a GT sports steering wheel.

The base price, i.e., RM 455,000 includes a four-year, 200,000 km warranty, and free maintenance.
